Zoo

Today was Keegan's first trip to the zoo. We went with his buddy Keegan, and we had a great time. We spent a lot of time looking at the monkeys.

Keegan B, had a fun time feeding Keegan P. And KP didn't mind one bit.

Keegan got up close and personal with a little black monkey. It was SO cute.

Lots of birds to chase around!

Random April Pictures

I haven't been very good at taking pictures or blogging recently, I have been having too much fun hanging out and doing stuff with Keegan, but here are a few cute pictures.

Keegan and Dad playing with bubbles.

I love his baggy clothes. He looks like a hoodlum :)

He is a Sesame Street zombie.

Chillin' with Dad.

Our Trip to Florida

We had a wonderful time on our trip to Florida! It was great to spend some quality time with Matt, my parents and my Grandma Huber. And they all enjoyed their quality time with Keegan. :) The weather was beautiful, and we were able to do lot so fun things.

DAY 1
We left our house at 3:30AM to catch our 6:00AM flight. Keegan was great on the plane, he only slept about 1/2 an hour but once he figured out that we weren't going to let him run around the plane he did pretty good playing and eating on our laps. The condo that my Grandmother rented was in Naples, which is on the South West side of FL, and it was gorgeous. It was in a country club, and right on the golf course, surrounded by palm trees.

DAY 2
We were all exhausted but anxious to get to the beach. So, we took our time getting ready and went to a state park beach in the afternoon. It was partially cloudy and windy, so we didn't do much swimming or snorkeling, but we got to sit on the beach and play in the sand. Keegan wasn't crazy about his first experience with the ocean. He got his toes wet, and enjoyed that but once he got in around his knees and could feel the pull of the waves it freaked him out a little bit and he didn't want anything to do with the water again. He loved playing in the sand, and even liked eating it. Gross!

DAY 3
Matt had some Marriott points saved up from all of his business trips so we spent them and got two free nights at a resort in Key Largo. We decided that this side-trip was Matt's 30th birthday present so we treated ourselves to a Jeep Wrangler and drove with the top down to the Keys.

After getting some sun by the pool we drove down the Keys to find a good place to eat. We ended up at the Islamorada Fish Company, and had a semi-private table right on the water. It was the absolute perfect place to sit and enjoy the evening and watch the sun set. It was great because there was a nearby boat that had music on really loud, and as we were discussing how great everything was "What a Wonderful World" came on, and we just sat back and enjoyed.

DAY 4
We love snorkeling so we booked a 5 hour snorkeling trip on a boat that took us to two different reefs.

Unfortunately it was a really windy day and so there were big waves and I got really sea sick on the boat ride out. I tried to snorkel, but couldn't shake the feeling and ended up hanging out over the side of the boat for the rest of the trip. Thankfully, Matt made some friends and was able to keep snorkeling. The water was rough which stirred up a lot of sand, so there wasn't a ton to see, but I think he still enjoyed himself. With my weak stomach and it being a Friday night we had a hard time finding a place for dinner, and after trying 5 or 6 fancy restaurants we ended up at a roadside pizza place, which ended up being REALLY good.

DAY 5
We had plans to lay by the pool and then head back, but I was anxious to get back to Keegan so we spent a few hours doing some souvenir shopping and then drove back to Naples. Keegan did great while we were gone, and I'm not really sure he even noticed that we were gone! He got all the attention and treats that he could possibly want from his Grandma, Grandpa and Great Grandma.

DAY 6
Grandma was excited to take us to the Country Club restaurant, so we went for Sunday brunch. Keegan had fun waving at all the tables of 'old people,' and they got the biggest kick out of him. It was really cute. He loves scrambled eggs, and couldn't eat them fast enough.

We wanted to see the beach one more time so we drove to Marco Island. (Next time I go to FL this is where I am going to stay. Beautiful!) We had an early dinner at an outdoor restaurant right on the beach, and then spent some quality time playing in the sand and collecting shells.

DAY 7
We got up early and out the door quickly so that we could go take a boat tour through the Everglades. It was really cool. Our family filled up the boat, so it was our own private tour. There was a dolphin that came and played with our boat for awhile (I'll post video of this later), and we got to see lots of Mangrove trees and Fiddler crabs. It was super cool.

Since we didn't get to see any alligators on the boat ride we drove to a nearby park that had a couple dozen just dozing near the parking lot.

DAY 8
Time to go home! We were the last ones to leave, so after two other trips to the airport we headed out. Keegan didn't sleep till our second flight (from Atlanta), but at that time he completely passed out and was dead to the world. It was great for us. We FINALLY got home at 1:30AM. All in all it was a great trip!
