Ultrasound Picture

I was so frustrated with not being able to find out the gender of our new little peanut, that I neglected to post an ultrasound picture. Here he/she is!

I knew it!

I knew that since I was so excited about finding out the gender of this baby, that I wouldn't be able to. Today was the "big" ultrasound and the little stinker had the umbilical cord between it's legs, and an arm between it's legs AND it's legs crossed. So there was no way of finding out if we have a little boy or girl in there. I am SUPER bummed. I guess the most important part is that the baby looks good, and healthy. So far it doesn't have as big of a head as it's big brother, but there is still lots of growing to be done.

Playdate

Keegan had a great playdate with his best buddies Bridgett and Lucas while I went to the doctor yesterday. You can see pictures here: http://nvwitteandkids.blogspot.com/2009/08/bestie.html.

Porter Family Reunion

This last weekend was the wonderful Porter Family Reunion. Us, Matt's parents, his brother, his two sisters and all of their families came together to spend the weekend in Estes Park. We drove up on Friday morning into Rocky Mountain National Park, where we found a great place to picnic for lunch. After lunch we drove up near the Continental Divide.
I love this series of shots. Camilla is the cousin who is closest in age to Keegan. They got along great. Whenever they were in the room together they were hanging out.
In the evening we had a private meeting room that we could all hang out in.
Dad, Holly and Mom Porter.
We spent the second day exploring the activities available at the YMCA. We swam, played miniature golf, played frisbee golf, skateboarded and much more. Here is Keegan with his Aunts and Uncle.
Sunday, our last day there, we had professional family pictures taken, packed up, ate lunch and headed home. It was such a great trip, with so many new memories.

Keegan played the drums on the head of the "Y" in YMCA.

Casa Bonita

Matt has never been to the "famous" Casa Bonita. So, we took some friends with us and make the trek. As expected, the food was awful and the ambiance was tacky, but now Matt can say that he has been to Casa Bonita.
Kat and Ray were willing to join us on our adventure.

Children's Museum With Cousins

We have had a busy month so far. It started out with a few of the boy cousins coming into town. We took them to the children's museum to see this very cool jet-pack demonstration.Big kid, Keegan, with his cousins Caleb and Dallin.

Park Day

I absolutely love park day! Today's park had a little water area. Keegan was pretty shy about diving in, but if I was right there he would get a little wet. (I'm glad Val always has her camera!)

Cute Keegan

I need to be better at writing down the random cute things that Keegan does. Today he was sitting on the bench between Matt and I in church with each arm linked around one of our elbows. He was just happy sitting there, and would occasionally give a good squeeze on each arm. Super sweet!

Our first camping trip!

Friday night we went on our first camping trip. Not only was it Keegan's first camping trip, but it was also the first camping trip of our marriage (we have been talking about going for 6 years but haven't gotten around to it). We went with a group from our church and had a great time! ... well at least 1/2 of the time!
We got there just in time for desserts on the fire; s'mores, dough boys and little pies, YUMMY! Just as everybody was finishing up and starting to put kids to bed we got a pretty heavy rain storm. Keegan had a hard time falling asleep, and after he finally did, everybody else had decided to call it a night, so we did too. I had a hard time falling asleep and not long after I did Keegan decided to start crying ... LOUD!! (about 1 AM) Now, he will do this randomly at home, and we just let him cry for 30 sec - 1 min and he will put himself back to sleep, but because there were so many people around us, we picked him up and tried to calm him, but that made him cry HARDER. I eventually took him outside and walked him around which calmed him down a bit, but didn't get him back to sleep. There was some other excitement going on in other parts of the camp that we went to check out, and once that was settled down Keegan as WIDE awake. I knew there was NO way we were going to happily and quietly get him back to sleep. So about 2 AM we packed up everything and drove home.
It was bittersweet going home. I was really excited about the trip, and about spending time with the people who were there, but it was nice to sleep in my warm comfortable bed. In the morning I seriously considered driving back up to finish the activites, but it would have been to late by the time we got there.
I am getting worse and worse about taking pictures of things (I don't like my camera) and if it wasn't for my wonderful friend Valerie and her amazing and abundant picture taking skills I would only have two pictures to show from this trip. Thanks again Val! You really are wonderful!

Here is Keegan helping set up the tent. He loved playing in it (just not sleeping in it).
This is his " big smile" face.
So handsome!
