Congratulations Missionaries!

Matt's wonderful parents are leaving next week for two years to serve as missionaries in the Family & Church History Mission at Church Headquarters in Salt Lake City. They have been assigned to the Translation Division and will coordinate 19 foreign language interpreters for Church broadcasts that are distributed by satellite to a worldwide audience. How cool is that?!? They have started a new blog and we will all be able to follow their exploits as they are gone (www.billeileenmissionpossible.blogspot.com). They will surely be missed, but we know they will be doing great work! Love you mom & dad!

More pics of Keegan

You can see more pictures of Keegan on the wonderful "Toddler Boredom Busters" website (click on the project name to see the pictures). Here he is doing a great DINOSAUR PROJECT, and here he is making WHITE MUD and then a SHAPE COLLAGE and PIZZADILLAS. He has so much fun with his friends, and always comes home with a great art project. It is also fun for me to be able to peek into his world (through these pictures) when I am away at work.

Happy 30th Birthday Matthew!

My husband is HOW old?!? Just kidding, he is only 30. When he turns 40, THEN I will really give him a hard time. :-)
(His birthday was September 4th, I just neglected to blog about it before we went out of town)

(This is where Keegan gets his blond hair)

We celebrated Matt's birthday a week early with a BBQ in our backyard along with close friends and family. Thank you to EVERYONE who came!

To ease his aching "old age" joints Matt has decided to take up meditation and yoga.
Thanks Dad for manning the grill!

Fun Weekend

This weekend, we enjoyed our last weekend (this season) at the family cabin. I don't have a ton of pictures, but we had a great time.

(First a little story) I have recently been telling people the things I am nervous about with the new baby on the way, and one of the things is that Keegan never had a big public diaper "blow-out," and therefore I never had to carry around an extra change of clothes. I'm worried that the new baby will make me work a little harder. Anyway, I guess I forgot to knock on wood when I talked to people about that, because on the drive to the cabin Matt and I started smelling something funny. We were actually blaming it on the dog, and starting to complain about how gross it was going to be to clean up. Finally, I looked in the back seat and saw that Keegan had poop running down both legs, and was all over his car seat. GROSS!! We found a grocery store parking lot, and Matt was gracious (brave) enough to take care of the boy while I ran into the store and bought extra wipes, Febreeze and Ziploc bags. Also thankfully, since we were traveling, we had a bag full of extra clothing for Keegan. That will teach me not to brag about how easy Keegan has been. :)

Saturday afternoon we got the chance to go swimming at the cabin's "peanut pool" (it is tiny and shaped like a peanut). This is the pool that Matt grew up swimming in, and it is a lot of fun. Keegan had a great time playing around and jumping off the edge into our arms. I'm so glad he likes the water!

On Sunday we went into to town to go to church. Keegan and I were waiting outside for Matt and I snapped a few pictures of him, since he was looking so handsome.
Another wonderful thing about this weekend was the weather. It was never too hot, there was always a nice cool breeze. The leaves were also beginning to change color and fall off the trees, so it really felt like Fall. Fall is my favorite season. It was weird to come back home to 90 degree, summer weather.

18 Month Stats

Keegan had his 18 month check up today. He is right where he should be on almost everything. His stats are:
Height - 32.5'' (65th %)
Weight - 23lbs 5oz (20th %)
Head - 50.5cm (100th %)

He doesn't say many words yet, but he knows:
Words: ma-ma, da-da, ball, book, duck, up
Animal Noises: cat, dog, bear, lion, dragon, snake, fish, bird, elephant, cow, pig, horse, monkey, alligator
Sounds: clock, car/truck/airplane

He is still a super affectionate child, with especially big hugs for Mom. He is a great climber, and is starting to get onto and into everything. He loves being outside, and loves spending time with other kids.

He is the joy of my life, and brings so much happiness into our household.
