Home again, home again ...
Keegan and I are back from our trip to NY. We had a great relaxing time, and I didn't take a singe picture!!! I was too lazy to pull out the camera while we were there, and now I am regretting it. We stayed with Matt's brother and his family. The last time we visited them we did all of the touristy stuff (Niagara Falls, Palmyra, Hill Cumorah, etc.) and so this time we didn't feel like we needed to do it all again, so we just hung out at the house and spent time with each other. Our one big event was a 5K fun-run that we did for a local school. Keegan got a kick out of his 5 cousins. Either he has started serious separation anxiety, or he was just overwhelmed by the 5 big kids, but he stayed right next to me the whole time, and didn't let me out of his sight. Matt came, from his business trip, for the weekend, and we were very happy to see him. All-in-all it was a great trip, but it is hard to travel with a wiggly one year old, so I am glad to be home. (My sister-in-law took some pictures, so I will try to get those from her.)

I'm done worrying ...

What else is there to worry about? Lots I'm sure, but I'm done worrying about KP's rash. We had a visit to Children's Hospital this afternoon since he rash has gotten worse and his PCP didn't feel comfortable giving the "all clear" over the phone. After two more doctors opinions, we were sent home with the diagnosis of an allergy to Amoxicillin. So, is it an allergy or is it a viral rash? I don't know for sure, but either way they don't do anything for it, and it will eventually go away. Now, it might get worse before it gets better, but I am done worrying about it. Unless the rash blisters, or scabs, or he wakes up with some other "new" symptom then I am done going to the doctor. I am done letting them get me all worked up and worried about what type of horrible disease he could have, and what kind of new medicine he needs to be on. I'm done crying because I can't fix the situation. I'm ready to move on and be happy and get on with our life, and just put this nasty week and a half behind us. We are going to enjoy our time together over the next two weeks without Matthew, and we are going to have lots of fun with cousins in NY!

My poor little boy
I have been in tears lately because I feel so bad for my little boy and everything he has gone through this week. I feel so helpless, that I haven't been able to make him better, or happy, or fix the discomfort. Thankfully, today he seems to be on the road to getting back to himself, although he probably looks the worst he has all week. The poor boy has spots all over his body! The doctor says it is a viral rash (probably from his croup, or another virus that could be hiding in his body) and that we shouldn't worry. But I still do. I hope and pray that he will get better soon!

Update
Keegan went back to the doctor today because he was up all night coughing and he just isn't getting better . No surprise here, he has croup too! The poor little guy just can't catch a break. He is so unhappy, and obviously in pain. I hope the new medicine and the 2 hour nap he is taking today will finally get him headed towards health!
On another note, we definitely have cabin fever, so Keegan and I had a picnic in the backyard for lunch yesterday. He sat here long enough for me to take a picture then he walked around the yard and would periodically stop back for a new bite of sandwich.

Being Sick is No Fun
Poor Keegan has not been feeling well for awhile. He has had a minor cold for a few weeks, so minor that I mostly thought it was just teething. But last Thursday he went downhill really quickly, his eyes were all red and he was just not a happy camper. Friday he woke up and I was positive that he had pink-eye in both eyes, and if it was just that I was going to wait it out, but he woke up from his morning nap and he was just sitting on my lap, not moving, and he was pulling on his ear. So, I took him to the doctor that afternoon. Sure enough, she diagnosed him with pink-eye in both eyes and an ear infection in his right ear. She put him on antibiotics for both things. He didn't get better over the weekend so I took him in again on Monday and the Amoxicillin had not helped so they put him on a different antibiotic and hopefully his ear will be feeling better quickly. Unfortunatley I think it gives him a stomach ache because he wouldn't nap or eat today. Poor guy! Not only has Keegan been sick, but Matt started coming down with it on Sunday and has ended up taking the last two days off of work to sleep. I'm trying to stay healthy, but can feel my throat swelling. Yuck! Too many germs in our house. I think we will be self quarantined for a few more days.
