Weekend at the cabin

We just spent a great weekend together up at our family cabin, just the three of us. All week Matt and I were trying to remind ourselves to bring the camera so that we could get some good pictures. We did remember the camera but when we went to take a picture of a baby bear that we saw in the road on the way up, we found out that the battery was completely dead (and I didn't bring the charger). Shucks! So we pulled out the video camera and got a quick shot of the baby bear. It is shot through the windshield because you know when there is a baby bear, momma bear must be nearby, and we didn't want to be caught off guard.

We spent Saturday down the mountain in Manitou Springs. It is a cute little touristy town. But our intention of going was to get an "olde time" family picture. Matt and I did this when we were first married, and it is now going to be a family tradition.

The other part of the weekend we just relaxed and spent as much time outside as possible. This is the only other video we got this weekend, not very good at "taking pictures" are we?

Just for fun, here is the picture from when we were newlyweds. We look so young!

Renaissance Festival

Last weekend we had a GREAT time at the Renaissance Festival.
We did a lot of stuff, but I think there were two highlights of the day. The first was the jousting:Keegan was enthralled with the joiust. He sat on his buddy Ray's lap and clapped, cheered and made horse noises with the rest of the crowd. The second was the children's petting zoo. He recognized most of the animals from his books and made all of the animal noises that he knew. He really enjoyed seeing the real thing.Keegan had a great time! And Matt and I realized that we need to take more pictures of us. :)

Videos

I have been really bad at blogging lately. I just can't find enough hours in the day to get all the things done that I need to ... at least with my non-existent energy level.

Here are two cute videos to remind you of what Keegan looks like:

This video has part of his animal-noise repertoire. You have to use your imagination for some, but we know what he is talking about :)

Keegan LOVES to vacuum with the handheld vacuum. He knows that I use it to clean the dog hair off of the steps, so that is what he is doing. I have absolutely no problem letting him play with the vacuum, since even if he is only cleaning up a few dog hairs, that is a few less than I have to clean up. I also love his big smile when he sees the camera. :)

Park Day

We had a fun morning visiting Big Dry Creek park. It is a REALLY cool park, and Keegan had a great time playing with his buddies.
Keegan and Bridgett. She is probably one of his favorite buddies.
Bridgett and Lucas teaching Keegan how to shoot a water gun. Somehow the only way he could get it to squirt was straight in his own face. It was pretty cute.
